God’s Heart for Europe

Hernandez.DirectoryNew missionaries José and Ada Hernández left for Spain on September 30. Since their arrival just a few days ago, they wrote these reflections on God’s heart for Europe:

… God is right here in Europe. He is building His church and He is inviting us to be part of that team of women and men willing to be part of something bigger than ourselves. He is calling us to partner with Him. This is a global team. Europeans, Americans, Latin Americans, and people from many other ethnic backgrounds are joining forces in order reach out a postmodern generation that rejects any notion about God because the horrible example Christianity in general has done in the past. Some of the members of this team are here at ground zero, but others are doing logistical work from their home countries through prayer, spiritual warfare, financial support, and creating awareness about the opportunity this part of the world offers to the church.

Europe is a spiritual desert today. But we know that God’s heart is here as well. He has been preparing the soil for years before our arrival through people that had left their home countries to live here and those born and raised in Spain, Portugal, Greece, France, and the rest of these nations that day after day are ridiculed because of their faith. I don’t know when Europe will have its spiritual awakening. But as James Hudson Taylor said; “Do great things for God. Expect great things from God.” That’s our mission for the Glory of the Father and the end result will be the Ruach HaKodesh [Holy Spirit] blowing and bringing life into this Continent.
