VISA, or "Volunteers in Service Abroad," has been sending individuals to short-term missions service abroad since 1964. The VISA office of Free Methodist World Missions has provided over 20,000 people with the opportunity to serve in cross-cultural ministry. VISA connects individuals and teams to short-term mission opportunities in the Free Methodist Church outside of the USA.

Teams
Church or Conference Sponsored Groups
- Teams sponsored by their local church or conference to support Free Methodist ministry abroad.
- Teams have many different opportunities, most notably through construction, VBS, English and sports camps, evangelism, and others.
- Trips usually last between one or two weeks in length.
Voyagers
1 - 2 Years
Individuals or Families
- Individuals or families who engage in ministry outside the United States for 1-2 years.
- Applicants are matched to ministries that fit with their unique skills and training.
- Voyagers raise financial support and are accountable to national leaders and missionaries.
Fast Trackers
6 Months or Less
Individual or Families
- Individuals or families that are invited by leaders or organizations on the field for a specific ministry outside of the United States.
- Assignments are typically two to three weeks but can be as long as six months.
- These may include teaching, medical ministry, emergency relief, etc.

- IMPACT stands for "Intentional Missions Preparation for Collegians and Teens."
- They are sold-out to Christ and are willing to demonstrate His love cross-culturally through actions and words.
