PRESENT MINISTRIES

There are five established churches, 14 developing churches, and four seed churches in Paraguay, organized into six regions, each led by committed teams working with Superintendent Juan Carlos Rodríguez.

Four training centers have been established, which have been fundamental in the formation of pastors and the promotion of new house church leaders, with the primary goal of preparing them to develop a holistic ministry. In addition, the church continues to minister to children through its school and soup kitchens, and to support young people through a recreation center.

ORIGINS

Free Methodist work in Paraguay began in Asunción in 1946 when Harold and Evalyn Ryckman arranged the purchase of a girls’ orphanage and school from independent missionaries. The first church was constructed in 1949. A Bible school opened in 1953. With the help of Minoru Tsukamoto, a Japanese from Brazil, work began with the large groups of Japanese immigrants in the late 1950s.
