I envision a church outside the building, reaching 2,000 souls for Christ by 2025. Being a pastor and a superintendent, I realized I must lead by example, so I designated one day a week to go out sharing the good news.
After receiving this vision, I knew I should begin immediately. I began visiting people in their homes, taking lay leaders with me. Our pattern is to fast and pray, meeting at the church to seek God’s leading for that day. In the afternoon, we go out to visit.
In the first week, we visited three homes, sharing the good news of Jesus with 16 people. Fourteen gave their lives to Christ, and two renewed their relationship with Jesus. The second week, we conducted four home visits, meeting 17 people. Eight individuals accepted Jesus as Lord. Others we met with were encouraged by our visits.
After sharing these reports with the pastors in our conference, they have joined us in this vision. In his first week, one pastor reported visiting six homes and six people accepting Christ as Savior. Another pastor reported seven home visits and nine conversions.
During one home visit, I was received by a man who was a drunkard and very lost. I shared the gospel with him and was overjoyed when he responded positively. He asked many questions. He wanted assurance that his sins would be forgiven and that he would be saved. The following Sunday, he came to church and has been attending ever since then.
Our pastors are reporting many people wishing to be baptized. Please join us in prayer for a continued harvest of souls for Christ as we go outside the church building to visit and build relationships. Pray our churches will have an impact on our communities. Pray we will see community transformation and kingdom expansion.
