PRESENT MINISTRIES
After approximately 10 years of ministry in Honduras, the Honduras Missionary District was officially established in 2019. It is comprised of four established churches and four planting projects. The church serves the Garifuna population and feeds undernourished children in its three existing soup kitchens. Local training centers have been formed under the leadership of Pastor Manuel Herrera, the mission district leader. We celebrate many recent baptisms in the local church-planting projects.
ORIGINS
Free Methodist churches in Honduras are led by two conference ministerial candidates and a group of emerging lay leaders with a vision to plant more churches. The existing churches were started from three different Free Methodist connections in the U.S.: Salem, MA; Miami, FL; Rochester and Fredonia, NY.
