PRESENT MINISTRIES

The Free Methodist Church in Puerto Rico has a vibrant, apostolic outreach to the community through street ministry, radio and other forms of evangelism. This conference is self-sustaining and continuing to grow, with four new community churches opening in Antigua at the end of 2021. Pastora Mercedes Reynoso is serving her fourth term as superintendent. One of the churches recently acquired property that is being transformed into a training and retreat center.

ORIGINS

Citizens of the Dominican Republic immigrated to Puerto Rico in large numbers for economic reasons. In 1967 a Dominican pastor and his wife, Manuel and Joaquina García, began holding services for their fellow countrymen in their home. Two years later, this church in the capital city of San Juan was officially organized.
