PRESENT MINISTRIES

An FM church was organized when a Malawian pastor preached in a Zambian village where he had friends. This church is in the northeast corner of Zambia near the borders of Malawi and Tanzania. Another group was started near Ndola by a Rwandan refugee. This second group had the church registered with the government of Zambia and was under the direction of the South African General Conference. In 2023, Zambia was granted the status of a full general conference. The church, planted by a Malawian pastor, still falls under a superintendent in Malawi, but the other work steadily expands throughout the country.

ORIGINS

In 1997 a Malawian pastor preached in a Zambian village where he had friends. Several people were converted. A Free Methodist church was organized at this location in the northeast corner of the country near the borders of Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania. Another group was started in Ndola by a Rwandan refugee pastor. This second group has grown significantly and is under the supervision of the South Africa General Conference, which officially registered the FMC in Zambia. In 2023, Zambia became a General Conference.

Zambia Animals for Pastors Program

An “Animal for Pastors” program is underway in Zambia. This program provides animals to pastors along with animal husbandry coaching. Raising animals gives pastors a better opportunity to sustain themselves and their families.

If you wish to give to this program, please contribute to the Zambia Church Planting and Development Fund and indicate in the comment box that this gift is for the “Animals for Pastors” program.
