PRESENT MINISTRIES
The first Free Methodist church in the Republic of Ireland was established in Monaghan. Called the FM Hope Christian Fellowship, the church is principally comprised of Congolese refugees who came to Ireland through a relocation program offered by the Irish government. Rev. Abwe Mulonda, who began the FMC’s ordination process while living in a Tanzanian refugee camp, serves as the congregation’s pastor. The church meets on Sundays in rented facilities and has congregants who travel to Monaghan each weekend from Cavan, Dublin, and other parts of Ireland. The church is registered as a charity in the Republic of Ireland. Ongoing supervision of the work in the Republic of Ireland takes place through the U.K. Annual Conference.
